The All Blacks took the game 41-33 but the Wallabies showed some of the tenacity they've lacked in recent years and kept on atacking until the final whistle. In fact, the final ten minutes resembled a game of sevens with both teams trying to keep the ball alive and build on their score.
The return to the side and ongoing presence of Quade Cooper bodes well with the flyhlaf notching up a personal tally of 18 points, including a drop goal, in front of a hostile Dunedin crowd.
While coach Ewen McKenzie hasn't been able to wave a magic wand this year and turn things around instantly, there were some good signs of things to come for the Wallabies.
