According to the Chinese Zodiac Calendar, 2015 is the Year of the Sheep. Meanwhile in NSW, Clipex, an innovative stockyard and fencing company is busy preparing for what they call, the year of the Clipex Sheep Handler.
The Clipex Sheep Handler started from humble beginnings in 1994 with NZ farmer Robin Fagin.
Robin was a sheep farmer who developed a handler to help reduce the hard work involved in handling sheep.
The next 17 years were spent refining his designs and developing a substantial sheep handling business in NZ.
In 2012 Robin approached Clipex with some exciting new design improvements for sheep catching, including the rate of flow, level of access, portability and more.
Over the last two years, Clipex has spent significant resources further developing and refining the handler ready for the Australian market.
The Clipex Sheep Handler is a compact, towable farm implement that features off road independent suspension making it incredibly easy to transport.
But when it’s ready to use, the drafting and precatch section neatly fold out, forming a very impressive handler.
Clipex General Manager, Ned Olsson, says that a lot of work has gone into the independent suspension on the machine to ensure that vibration doesn’t damage the electronics during transport.
“But the innovation by no means stops there,” he says citing the significant product development that they’ve been working busily on for nearly two years.
The Clipex Sheep Handler has three electric jacks, which means you can easily adjust the machine to work at the perfect height without busting your back.
It’s hot dipped galvanised with replaceable bushes on all the moving parts.
It features electronics that are designed and built in Australia and the best pneumatic valve bank that money can buy.
But more important is the workflow of the handler. The handler features a pre-catch, innovative anti-backing and flap doors that work together with amazing new eye sensor technology that keep sheep flowing.
It can also automatically catch sheep with incredible accuracy, has a roll over tilt function and lift flaps that provide unparalleled access to the animal, all with minimal effort.
The handler comes with load bars included, and when used with a suitable scale indicator, will weigh and draft sheep automatically.
