The Member for Monaro John Barilaro said the funding falls under the Building Grants Assistance Scheme (BGAS).
“Under the scheme non-government schools may apply for assistance for the planning, construction, alteration, extension, renovation, relocation or upgrading of educational facilities,” said Mr Barilaro.
“In 2015/16 funding for BGAS amounted to over $11.7million shared across the state.
“This building project is for the refurbishment of the Technical and Applied studies learning spaces.
The project involves a total cost of $992,894 of which $695,026 is being provided under BGAS, with the remainder being funded by the school community.
“This grant scheme is effective in improving the care of schools, care that is vital to their efficient operation as places of learning and to the morale of staff and students.
“It is essential that school buildings are maintained and refurbished so all students can learn in the best facilities possible.”
