Their continued success has followed on from both the Canberra and Sydney Royals, where students exhibited and won Corriedales to win Championship classes and also had top 10 finishes in the Junior Handler classes.
The experience in Dubbo was no different.
Ten students, along with teachers Rachel Smith and Michael Pugh, set off to Dubbo to work with and exhibit sheep for our 5 Corriedale Stud partners Billigaboo – Narrandera, Roseville – Kingsdale, Roselea – Rydal, Merryville – Merriwa and Jesmond – Geurie.
The students did an outstanding job and their professionalism was constantly displayed both in and out of the ring.
They exhibited Corriedales to place in the majority of classes and then went on to be sashed: · Reserve Champion Shorn Corriedale Ewe, Roselea Ewe – exhibited by Amy; · Reserve Champion Woolly Corriedale Ewe, Roseville Ewe – exhibited by Tareq; · Reserve Champion Woolly Ram - exhibited by Jack; · Champion Shorn Corriedale, Roseville Ram – exhibited by Owen; and Grand Champion Corriedale, Billigaboo Elsworth – exhibited by Lochlan.
Junior Handler and Judging Classes also gave the students the opportunity to display their skills and once again, they did not disappoint with four students making the top 10 out of over 150 entrants.
“The students never fail to amaze me, the way they conduct themselves both in and out of the ring,” Mrs Rachel Smith, Agriculture teacher at Trinity Catholic College, said.
“I am so very proud of them all. 2015 has been a very successful year for all of our students and stud partners.
I would like to thank the NSW Corriedale Society and in particular our stud partners for their ongoing support, and for enabling our students to exhibit their magnificent animals.
Corriedales are the feature breed at the 2016 Sydney Royal so we all can’t wait for next year.”
