New season lambs to processers ranged from $76 to $113/head for the light 2 score lambs. The medium and heavy trade weights were firm to $4 cheaper and sold from $110 to $140/head. Heavy lambs ranged from $140 to $147 and the few extra heavy lambs reached $198.20/head. Carcase prices ranged from 575c to 600c/kg cwt.

Old lambs were slightly dearer and the trade weights sold from $114 to $139/head. Merino lambs were well back in numbers and sold $3 dearer and ranged from $114 to $122/head. The best of the heavy hoggets reached $138/head.

Mutton numbers lifted and there was an increase in Merino wethers. Quality was good with plenty of medium and heavy sheep in excellent condition. Prices were $1 to $4/head dearer. Medium weight ewes sold from $70 to $111/head. Heavy crossbred ewes sold from $102 to $120/head. Merino wethers sold to $116/head. Carcase prices ranged from 380c to 400c/kg cwt.

Numbers lifted and the quality was mixed. Yearlings were well supplied and were mostly purchased by feeders. Trade cattle were limited. There were a few weaners but most were plainer showing the effects of the season. Prime bullocks were in short supply and there were plenty of plainer grown heifers. Cow quality was not as good and buyers purchased cattle with not as much cover. The market was cheaper.

Light calves sold to 341c/kg. Weaners reached 280c/kg to Restockers. Feeder steers fell 15c and heavy weights averaged 20c to 25c/kg cheaper with a feeder not operating on the heavy weights. Feeder heifers fell 15c to 20c/kg. Steers sold from 250c to 289c and heifers 240c to 271c/kg. Trade steers ranged from 262c to 280c and heifers sold to 271c/kg.

Grown steers were back 2c ranging from 265c to 270c and the younger grown heifers were firm selling to 271c/kg to the trade. 2 score cows improved in numbers and ranged from 150c to 192c and the plainer run of heavy weights made from 202c to 214c/kg.
