People came from near and far to work at Australia’s biggest charity shearing event.
The local 12 stand shearing shed hosted gun shearers from all over to defleece about 1500 merino sheep on the day.
The annual charity event is the brain child of Ray Meredith and Melinda Corby of Taralga. In its third year now, it is a great fund raiser with The Sydney Children’s Hospital as the benefactor.
Elders Real Estate Goulburn is the main sponsor with many other local businesses chipping in with very generous donations in one form or another.
The evening saw a very successful auction event called by Danny Cummins with spirited bidding on an array of quality donated products and services.
Jamie Agius provided the night’s entertainment with great music. Steve Bergun again provided the venue and facilities.
Ray and Melinda would like to especially thank everyone who assisted with food preparation and getting this event organised.
The shearers and shed staff particularly who donate their wages for the day to the cause deserve a special mention.
Many local businesses again have dug deep in providing support and donations.
Particular mention however goes to the businesses below for their continued support.
Taralga Rural, Gavin Corby, BBQs Galore, BCF Goulburn, Stuart & Gay Parsons, Moloney Poll Dorsetts Kev’s Quality Meats, Dutallis Saddlery, Corby’s Fencing Contracting, The Ultimate Horse Shop, Meredith Shearing, Wicked Ink, Canberra Raiders, St George Illawarra Dragons, Taralga Hotel, Goulpro Goulburn, Tangles Vine Café Taralga and Taralga Fishing Club.
