The donation is a joint initiative between NSW Police and charity Mission Australia.
Officers attached to the Hume Local Area Command in Goulburn, Bowral and Yass dug deep over the last month to help the cause.
Mission Australia south eastern area manager Daniel Strickland said it was fantastic to have such a great response from the Hume.
“Across the Hume Local Area Command there is a hidden homeless,” Mr Strickland said.
“While we welcome this initiative, we know it’s not going to solve homelessness.
“But we know its going to give people on the street homeless a brand new pair of boots.”
Hume Local Area Command Inspector Alison Brennan said many in the force had helped drive this partnership.
“We’re happy to contribute in some small way,” Inspector Brennan said.
