The South Coast Health and Sustainability Alliance (SHASA), has appointed Micro Energy Systems Australia as its installer for the 2018 Solar Bulk Buy 3.
SHASA chairperson Kathryn Maxwell said the Bodalla-based company had installed more than 80 systems during phases one and two of the community project.
“MESA has an excellent track record on installations across the Eurobodalla during both Solar Bulk Buy 1 and 2,” Ms Maxwell said.
“MESA has installed the majority of over 80 quality systems on houses and businesses across the South Coast.”
MESA spokeswoman Lisa Cornthwaite said they were excited to use Australian-made solar panels from South Australian firm Tindo Karra.
“It is a great opportunity not only to help a great community organisation, but to use Australian-made gear,” Ms Cornthwaite said.
She welcomed the chance “to engage local suppliers and distribution networks”.
“That was the most exciting thing,” she said.
“The best thing about the bulk buy is we are trying to promote that it is all about local and Australian-made.”
SHASA has installed 349.6kW of solar panels and 25kW of batteries, helping households and businesses to significantly cut their electricity costs.
MESA owner/operator Stephen Cornthwaite said the bulk-buy was being offered in various packages.
Ms Maxwell said the payback period for businesses could be less than four years and for households less than six years.
An average homeowner could easily save up to $1000 per year in electricity bills, she said.

The Solar Bulk Buy 3 will be promoted at local markets and shows in the coming months. SHASA will also be working with Eurobodalla Shire Council to run a series of workshops on solar power for businesses and households in early May 2018.
