The dairy product competition attracts entries from around Australia and it was the first time Bodalla Dairy had entered any competition.
“I am amazed with our success,” owner and cheesemaker Sandra McCuaig said. “With five entries, we won four medals.”
Bodalla Dairy won a Bronze for its Gumleaf Smoked and Stockwhip Tasmanian Pepperberry cheeses, and a bronze with its Dark Chocolate and Tasmanian Pepperberry Ice Cream.
The Gold medal for the dairy’s ‘Living Milk’ came with the highest score of 18.33 in the non-homogenised milk category.
Mrs McCuaig said the Bodalla Dairy sourced all its milk from a single source, a nearby farm. Getting milk from one herd, meant they get the consistency right every time, she said.
