Cattle numbers declined for a mixed quality yarding. Lighter young cattle were better supplied while the big drafts of feeder steers and heifers were not around this week. Restockers and feeders purchased most of the young cattle. Grown steers and heifers were back in numbers and around 530 mixed cows were offered.

Young calves under 200kg sold dearer to restockers with steers reaching 265c/kg. Heavy trade vealers sold between 250c and 270c/kg. Lighter feeder steers sold 10c easier and sold from 230c to 278c/kg. Medium and heavy weights were around 6c easier with the exception of a few which were from a large line of forward conditioned feeders. Prices ranged from 210c to 300.6c/kg. Feeder heifers were dearer by 8c to 9c selling from 220c to 272c/kg. Trade cattle were firm 265c to 280c/kg.
Grown steers were back 6c but there were more full mouth steers offered and sold from 168c to 262c/kg. Most cows were between 6c and 11c/kg cheaper. Medium weights sold from 110c to 162c/kg. Heavy 3 and 4 score cows 150c to 192c with the prime heavy weights averaging 287c/kg.

Lamb numbers declined and the quality was mixed. There was a limited supply of well finished trade and heavy lambs and the bulk of the lambs were lacking cover weight and finish. There was a good run of Merino lambs again most were lighter weights.
Light 2 score processing lambs were firm and sold from $80 to $119/head. Restocking lambs sold from $35 to $115/head. Medium and heavy trade weights $2 to $3 cheaper on average but the better end held firm and sold from $117 to $148/head. Heavy lambs were $7 to $8 cheaper with quality a majority factor and sold between $142 and $164/head. Extra heavy lambs reached $182/head. Carcase prices averaged 570c to 620c/kg cwt. Light Merino trades sold to $120/head. Hoggets reached $168/head.
Mutton numbers remained similar for a mixed quality offering with Merinos well supplied along with a few pens of heavy crossbred ewes. Prices were $2 to $3 cheaper on the lighter weights and sold from $69 to $114/head. The better covered heavy weights were firm reaching $170/head. Merino wethers sold to $155.20/head.
