There are a number of factors that you take into consideration when buying a young bull for breeding, and chief among them is the genetic lines that they come from.
The Pines Pastoral, a 700 acre Angus cattle farm in Moss Vale, have a breeding program that always uses genetics from the latest American and Australian bloodlines.
Long-time breeder Robyn Dove says “If you wish to improve your herd with the latest American Angus genetics, our 2018 bull sale could be the answer.”

For their sale on August 11, to take place on the property, 24 bulls have been selected.
Among them there are sons of Deer Valley All In, Timeless 458, Thomas Up River, SAV Birthstone, Coleman Regis, Thunderbird and BCC Bushwacker.
Robyn describes this as “A great line up of good bull genetics [consisting of] heifer bulls, all-rounders, growth, and maternal bulls.”
How the animals are raised also matters. “All bulls are quiet, grass fed – no grain – and are weighed at birth. All bulls are footscored and semen tested. All vaccinations have been given including pesti and vibrio,” Robyn affirms.
You can also see them ahead of time on Saturday August 4. “At Beef Week we will have on view our sale bulls and a selection of PTIC heifers.”
