Cattle numbers lifted and the quality was good. There was a good run of feeder yearlings, but heavy weights were in short supply. Trade cattle were also limited. Prime heavy grown cattle were limited and heifers with weight were in demand. Around 360 cows were penned and sold to weaker demand.

Restockers paid up to 300c for weaner steers and feeders reached 312c/kg for backgrounding steers. Weaner heifers sold to 230c/kg. Medium weights feeder steers eased 5c on average, making from 263c to 308c/kg. Heavy feeders were limited, lifting 7c to reach 312c/kg.
Medium weight feeder heifers eased 10c, but there was more breed variation through the sale, making from 216-268c/kg. The few heavy trade cattle sold from 260-300c/kg. There were too few grown steers to quote a price trend and prices made from 270c and 275c/kg. Heavy grown heifers lifted 15c, making 242-268c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows were back 10c, making 168-212c, while the heavy 3 and 4 scores eased 4-7c, making 200- 232c/kg. Prime heavy weights averaged 223c/kg.

Lamb numbers lifted and the quality was again mixed. Store lambs and light weights made up the majority. There were a few good trade weights, but only a limited number of heavy weights. Shorn lambs showed an increase in numbers and Merino lambs were in short supply. Old lambs are becoming scarce. All the usual buyers were operating in a cheaper market.
New season restocking lambs sold from $95-$120, back $7/head. Lambs to feed on sold to $140/head. Medium and heavy trade weights were $2 to $5 cheaper and sold from $120-$166/head. Heavy lambs eased $4, making from $155-$192/head. Carcase prices averaged from 650-700c/kg cwt. Shorn Trade lambs sold from $145-$159/head. Light Merino lambs made from $94-$100/head. Mutton numbers increased and the quality was fair to good. Heavy sheep were well supplied and there were plenty of medium weights offered. Prices eased $7-$10 on the medium weights and $15- $20/head on heavy sheep, with not all buyers operating a full speed. Medium weight ewes sold from $64-$116/head. Heavy crossbred ewes made from $100-$154 and heavy Merinos reached $148/head. Merino wethers topped at $166/head. Carcase prices averaged from 380-440c/kg cwt.
