Cattle numbers lifted and the quality was mixed. There were plenty of light weaners and yearlings and strong competition on the lighter weights. A very good run of heavy feeder heifers were penned and prime heavy grown steers were limited. Approximately 500 cows were offered in a market that was cheaper, with the exception of the light restocking weaners. Restockers paid to 307c for very light weaner steers and to 248c/kg for heifers. The heavy vealers to the trade reached 280c/kg. Feeder steers eased 10-20c depending on breed/weight, making 255-286c/kg. Feeder heifers were 10c softer on the medium weights selling from 245-264c/kg. Heavy feeder heifers made 258-272c/kg, holding firm on the better end. Heavy trade cattle were firm to 2c easier, making 235-275c/kg. Prime grown steers sold for 240-256c, the best of the grown heifers made 230-265c/kg. Most of the 2 score cows eased 20c, making 120-180c/kg for heavier weights. Heavy 3 and 4 score cows sold 10-20c cheaper, making 166-212c/kg.

Lamb numbers were steady and the quality was mixed. There were plenty of light store lambs and a few good trade weights, but good heavy lambs were limited. Most of the new season lambs were dry in the skin, and the few that were not, received a premium. Shorn lambs lifted in numbers, but remain in short supply. The market was cheaper on most.
New season restocking lambs sold $80-$118 and eased $12/head on plainer lambs. Trade weights were back $3-$7 selling from $130-$154/head, averaging around 650c with well-presented lambs up to 700c/kg. Heavy lambs sold for $153-$170 with an excellent pen of extra heavy lambs making $216/head to average 725c/kg. The better end of the shorn trade lambs sold from $137-$154 averaging 680c and heavy weights reached $177/head. Merino hoggets were well supplied and eased $5, with the heavier trade weights $93-$120/head.
Mutton numbers lifted and the quality was fair. There were plenty of light/medium weights penned. Prices eased $4-$6 on the lighter sheep and lifted $2-$3/head on the heavier and better covered lines. Light 1 score sheep made $30-$72/head. Medium weight ewes ranged from $78-$118/head. Heavy crossbreds made $110-$157 and merinos with a skin reached $148/head. Merino wethers sold to $114/head bare shorn. Carcase prices averaged 410-440c/kg.
