Lamb numbers eased and the quality was mixed. There were only a few prime trade and heavy lambs, with the majority of the lambs lacking weight and cover. Restockers and feeders were active pushing the lighter lambs dearer. Trade weights were firm and less competition on heavy weights resulted in cheaper prices.

The two score lambs to feeders and restockers sold from $78 to $138/head. Trade lambs weighing 18-22kg sold to similar prices, varying from $122 to $145/head, averaging from 620c to 640c/kg cwt on the limited supply. Heavy lambs were $10 to $15 cheaper, making from $140 to $156 and extra heavy lambs sold to $182/head. Trade Merinos received from $92 to $106 and hoggets reached $140/head.
Mutton numbers eased slightly and quality varied. Prices were $8 to $10/head dearer on the better covered lines. Medium weight ewes sold from $80 to $110/head. Heavy crossbred ewes made from $122 to $137/head. Most averaged from 380c to 420c/kg cwt.
