The Moving Feast is an annual festival put on by the Makers of Murrumbateman.
This year it will take place on Saturday and Sunday October 5 and 6, along with a relaxing Music Monday at a few venues featuring live entertainers on October 7.
First held in 2006, Makers of Murrumbateman's current president Wendy O'Dea (Dionysus Winery) says that the initiative came about because the group wanted to encourage more people to visit the region.
It certainly worked, and the Moving Feast is now a well-established event on many foodies' and wine lovers' calendars.
It's not just wineries and grape vineyards either. Among the 18 venues you can go to this year, they have a meadery, a chocolatier, and an alpaca farm.
Wendy explains the concept as being one of a family-friendly experience, where you come to see the region and then taste and experience what it has to offer.
The idea is you will move from one venue to the next at your leisure, eating at one or two of them (there are separate mains and deserts, and some of you will stay in the region longer than others), and discovering locally-made products at each other location that takes your interest.
Designated drivers (or if you're really just there to enjoy the food) are offered the option of tea, coffee, soft drink or water in place of their meal's glass of wine.
The menu is updated for each event, and their focus is on variety.
"Every year we look at what we're offering, and as group, we make sure we cater to all tastes," Wendy explains.
"We have a range of options so that when you look at the menu, there has got to be something that you will like."
In terms of sampling wine, it is statistically unlikely that anyone will have tried everything the region has, especially since there are new releases coming out at some of the of cellar doors shortly.
They also prefer you to move around in smaller groups rather than large ones, so that they can give everyone the attention they deserve.

"The only requirement [to join the group] is that you make something in the area," says Wendy O'Dea.
The wineries, meadery and chocolatier are self-explanatory. The alpaca farm makes fleece and yarn as well as more alpacas (it's also a stud). Members such as motels and hotels make beds and meals, and there's also pottery among other things.
The group first came together in 2005 and the Moving Feast was among their first initiatives. They also put on other events like a Harvest Hamper Trail each autumn.
