NSW Police rural crime investigators from Mudgee Police Station are investigating a report of trespassing and the theft of deer from a property at Kaludabah which occurred around October 31.
"The owner of the property found a number of deer remains on the property which police believe were killed and butchered on site," State Rural Crime Co-ordinator Detective Inspector Cameron Whiteside said.
"Inquiries are continuing and police would like to hear from anyone who may have information about this incident."
