At 10.40pm on November 9, rural crime investigators observed a vehicle travelling along the railway corridor near Ringwood Road in Wollar.

"Police stopped this vehicle and spoke to the male occupant," State Rural Crime Co-ordinator Detective Inspector Cameron Whiteside said.

"A subsequent search of the vehicle located a number of railway infrastructure items in the tub of the vehicle.

"Investigations over the last week resulted in the male not being authorised to be in the railway corridor and investigators will allege that he stole the railway infrastructure items."

The 29-year-old Wollar man was was issued a court attendance notice for the offence of stealing to appear in Rylstone Local Court in March.

The incident occurred during Operation Fleece which was a joint operating targeting illegal hunting, trespassing and other rural related crimes in the Merriwa, Cassilis, Wollar, and the Coolah Tops and Goulburn River National Parks.
