Numbers increased to a record offering of cattle in a prime market. The yarding was plainer with more light weight cattle entering the market. Yearlings were well supplied and prime grown cattle were limited. Feeders were very active on most weights.

Plainer and lighter cattle to restockers eased 30c/kg with steers selling for 220-260c/kg and heifers making 140-228c/kg. Vealers to restockers sold dearer with steers selling to 318c/kg and heifers to 288c/kg. Feeder steers eased 10-12c/kg on the medium weights and held firm in the heavier run, making 250-323c/kg. Medium weight heifers eased 9c/kg, making 235-276c/kg. Heavy trade cattle were limited but the few that sold to the trade held firm, making 275-286c/kg.
Grown steers reached 270c/kg and a very good line of heavy 2 tooth heavy heifers reached 277c/kg. Cows were back 15-20c/kg with the medium weight 2 score cows selling from 170-195c/kg. Heavy weights made from 185-232c/kg.
Prime Sheep, Lamb

Agents penned over 8000 more sheep and lambs today. The quality was mixed across all weights and grades with some pens of sappy new season lambs available, however, most have started to show signs of the dry conditions across the supply area.
Light weight lambs were firm to $5 dearer with the 12-18kg 2 scores selling to the processors between $100-$142/head. Trade weight new season lambs gained momentum on the fresher lots lifting $7-$9/head in places. The 18-22kg lambs selling from $140-$168 and the heavy trade weights 22-24kg lambs making between $167-$178/head to average $714c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs to the domestic and export buyers eased up to $7 selling between $177-$190/head.
Store lambs were very well supplied with the lighter weights returning to the paddock making between $95-$140/head, selling in up to a few dollars easier. Feedlot buyers paid between $103-$142/head. Lambs weighing between 18-22kg returning to the paddock or going to feed were making between $136-$168/head.
Overall it was a mixed quality yarding of mutton selling $10-$20/head easier across all weights and grades. Merino 4 score ewes sold between $145-$172 and heavy crossbred ewes made $145-$204/head, averaging 564c/kg cwt.The 2 and 3 score ewes sold for $84-$155/head.
