Mr Goss's daughter has posted warnings on social media about a fake account pretending to belong to her mother, and asking for money for her father's funeral.
In a heartfelt and angry plea to her friends, Ms Goss referred to the scammers as 'lowlife' and asked people not to give any money or click the link, if anyone was sent a link to donate.
"Please report the fake account," she said.
The posts prompted an outpouring of anger from the family's friends and relatives, as well as sadness that anyone should do something so "disgusting".
Soon after Ms Goss had discovered the account, she found a second fraudulent fundraiser hosted on the Donorbox site.
"Please don't donate," she warned friends on social media.
"I have sent a message to donor box to delete it, but they don't work weekends. I just hope people read the posts before donating."
It is understood the family is not asking for donations, and that the two scams have been reported to the Tasmania Police, who had no comment on the alleged frauds.
