The atmosphere was set by the Paddys River Bush Band who had toes tapping and everyone smiling.
Our other new attractions, The Southern Harvest Farmers Markets and Ben Britton’s Wild Animal Encounters proved to be great hits as they both educated visitors as well as putting on great displays.
The new novelty Wool Throw was won by Mark Dawson from Crookwell and Andrew Knight won the open event contested by 27 shearers.
The Cow Pat Lotto was won by Geoff Thomas of Tarago and our thanks go to the Oosting family for the loan of the said beast.
With 300 entries for the Dog Show held in the village and 440 horse entries the judges and stewards had a busy day finding the best of the excellent standards of animals presented.
Andrew Nash, the horse co-ordinator and Jean and John Hockey in charge of the dog section are to be congratulated once again for their organizational skills.
As usual the Pavilion was overflowing with a huge array of displays of food, crafts, flowers, a record number of children’s entries and a magnificent Tribute to ANZACs display.
Fortunately our new annex to the pavilion was completed in time to accommodate the magnificent produce presented.
The ladies of the CWA are again to be congratulated for their work in setting everything up.
Our fantastic catering teams once again kept appetites satisfied.
The positive feedback from visitors, exhibitors and attractions ensured that next year will only get bigger and better.
Special thanks must be given to our energetic and enthusiastic team of young volunteers who really gave their all and to Josh Gazzard a thumbs up for his work in organising the activities in the children’s area.
