Wild dog poison baits of 1080 and 1080 ejector capsules will be laid in the reserves of: Kanagra-Boyd, Blue Mountains, Abercrombie River, Mares Forest, Wiarborough and Wombeyan Karst.
Baiting will start on September 1 and conclude September 30. The 1080 M44 ejectors will be left on site permanently and areas of use will be clearly signposted.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service warns that these positions can affect non-target animals, and asks that domestic animals (in particular, farm dogs) are kept away from these reserves.
Dogs are prohibited at all times in National Parks under the National Parks and Wildlife Act of 1974 and regulations.
Baits will be buried to reduce the risk of non-target poisoning.
