More time to fight crime for regional officers

Regional NSW will soon benefit from the rollout of a new specialist police team, targeting mid-level crime in country areas. The new squad will aim to decrease the workload for frontline police in the Southern Region, Minister for Police Troy Grant said, announcing the first Region Enforcement Squad for country NSW. “By pooling resources in our regions with the capability to prevent and disrupt crime, our officers will be able to focus more on proactive policing rather than reactive policing,” Mr Grant said.
